Came here on Christmas Day and while we know that most places are closed, we figured if they are open it must be good...we were wrong. The steak sandwich was bland and lacked any real toppings. They don't even give you a plate, it is wrapped in paper like a McDonald's cheeseburger (which, btw, would have been more satisfying). The burgers were also lame too, only adding and extra patty made it a little better. Service was slow and just ok, nothing to write home about. Drinks were expensive and also, nothing to get excited about. Definitely will not be back.

The brisket sandwich and 1/2 naked cheese curds... I am speechless. The brisket was a special but they are famous for there steak sandwich.

Very local. Also very friendly and very reasonable. Pretty good size beer list, though we went after summer (high season) and they were out of a few craft brews. The bartender knew the list well enough to make some recommendations that worked for us. Not fancy but we didn't need fancy.

STEAK SAMMIE! Same for the last 40 years my parents have been going there! Owner is super friendly, chatted it up with my parents who were soo excited for a trip down memory lane to the time when they were first married and checking out the Wisc Dells. Steak sandwich hasn't changed a bit. 6 oz Sirloin on a bun with hot sauce on the side. Simple and perfection! Newer location (they moved from the original tiny bar up the street in 2007, but took the grill with!). I love the sandbar! I enjoyed these sammies 10 years ago when I worked as a lifeguard at Noahs, they are delish! Saw some onion rings go by that look amazing! Must try! Also, wing special on Nascar days, all you can eat, $10!

Thought it was overpriced for what was marginal quality and small servings. I wouldn't recommend it. Two adults and two kids and we had 1 burger (lettuce tomato not included), 1 kids grilled cheese and fries, 1 cheese curd app, 1 chicken finger app and 4 soft drinks totaled $32.

Discriminates against non-whites. As my friends and I walked in at about 11pm, there was one bartender. No greeting, no smile, no nothing, she just flat out walked away into the back. There was another group of 4 white individuals in the bar for the time that we were at this place. We sat by the bar and waited about 7 minutes before the bartender returned and asked us "what we wanted." She rolled her eyes multiple times at us and was clearly annoyed we were there in the first place. Took our order, made our rail mixers and went to talk to the other group. She was all smiles and chatty with the other group. Striking up conversation asking where they were from, how long they were in town, etc... As she clearly treated us as if we were below her and not welcomed, we finished our drinks, paid and left. Never will we return to this place. It's 2014 and this place has yet to look past skin color.

Great place! Stopped in for a late lunch and drinks after a weekend in the Dells and so happy we stumbled upon it! The owner was beyond friendly! We had 3 children with us and they loved the pool table and video games. The bloody marys are house made and delicious! Lots of good beers on tap also. We will definitely visit again next time we're up in the area!

Great atmosphere and clean, which is saying a lot for the Dells. They used to be at a different location though and when they moved, they jacked up the prices. Used to get a grilled chicken breast sandwich and fries, which tasted great.

Strictly a beer bar, but they have 100 defferent selections to chose from. They also run a contest to see who can try all 100 beers! Its a small bar with an oldstyle juke box, a pool table, dart board, and great friendly service. Despite all the advertisements for burgers from Monks Bar and Grill (still a great place), the burgers at Sand Bar are the best in the Dells area.

Just before midnight, my brother and I were a a late-night loss for food choices. Many of the restaurants on the strip were just closing up, to the extent of giving us a bit of attitude for wanting food, and we were looking for something a bit more substantial than tapas. The Sand Bar was incredibly welcoming to our late patronage. The deep fried pretzel sticks are a must. The fried cheese curds are just as good as Monks. Want a late night snack? GO HERE.

I was in the Dells area making some arrangements for my upcoming wedding when I needed to kill some time. I thought why not grab something to eat and a beer. I ventured into the Sand Bar as it's off the main drag. I was happy to have a $3.00 High Life in Wisconsin Dells. I also enjoyed a cheap basket of fries, the prices has escaped my mind. I will be back, bartenders were uber friendly and the place was clean.

This is like a bad townie bar in the dowtown Dells. We went there to watch some NCAA tourney games. Walked in and it wasn't too busy - maybe 10 people. They had the games on, but no sound. They did, however, have a juke box and someone had selected some clubby trans music that was blairing and super annoying. So loud and so bad that we couldn't take it and went to another bar. I can tolerate a lot of music, but not club music in a "sports" bar while people are trying to watch a game or play darts. I did give them 2 stars because they have do have beer and that is a good thing.

This place is tucked away, but I'm glad we found it on the bar crawl. Great margaritas and long islands. Being from Chicago, we were stunned that 1 margarita+1 long island=$9. Drinks are STRONG! I forgot how many vodka cranberrys I drank and I don't remember how I got back to the hotel... This place has great specials EVERY night of the week. All of the bartenders are pretty friendly too.

Just a block off the main drag. Good place to watch the Buckeyes!
